Shipping boxes to Spain (Valencia)
 

We are moving to Spain from USA next month and are preparing to ship some 10-15 boxes. These will hold bedding, clothes, wall art, tools etc. Basically stuff that will fit in the boxes. No electrics. Nothing dangerous.
We then have to pick them up from the Port in Valencia. Cost is $688 for that, or double if they ship door to door.
But now, having looked at the documents required for their entry and Customs is extraordinarily long. Wanting proof of residence, inventories detailed and valued - a list too long to put here.
Has anyone shipped boxes into Spain. Can you tell us what you needed to pick them up? Would it be better for the Shipping Agent to do it?
Detail of any experience you have had would be very helpful.
