I don't think there are any hotels at the airport if memory serves me!!

Carmona is right next door though with plenty of hotels. Or Seville itself as already mentioned.

First stop on the airport-city bus. 10mins from the airport is the railway station (santa Justa) Get off there and the hotel is facing you.

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_R...Andalusia.html

A tad expensive. But very good we've used it quite a few times.

Ps
Something else to consider if you are going to be alone. It's also in a safe area with plenty of shopping within a 5 minute walk. el corte ingles + large mall etc etc, all on the same street as the hotel

AC Hotel Santa Justa, Hotel San Pablo, Hotel Ibis Sevilla and Hotel Las Tres Carabelas are all located within 5-10 minutes from the airport.

Anyone know about the coach from the station to the airport? I understand it can be difficult to find.

I think your friend may be thinking about the airport. It can be very busy outside there at times with buses etc.
The airport / city bus now leaves from the opposite end of the arrival hall as it used to. Turn left after leaving the airport building and the stop is right at the far end.

At the station things are a lot less busy.
