Well if you can't trust your local bank then some 3rd party isn,'t going to be any more credible.

I was talking about third parties ... i.e. Nobank, which doesnt really give it much credibility by its name :-)

So Paypal seems a good one then, as I mentioned previously ... works both ways.... with it as the financial engine behind ebay and others it looks pretty safe to me.... (but havent tried it as through SEPA I get it all no cost/commissions)

Re: Sending money to UK
Hello,
Just had time to look at the recommended sites and they are not really what I need... I am sending euros from Spain to a UK bank (pounds)....am not 100% sure where I was ripped off - whether it was my Spanish bank or my UK bank... It was very simple to do online but I seemed to loose a fair few quid on the way... But thanks anyway everyone x |
Re: Sending money to UK
Only problem IS found re Currency Fair was when sending Euro's to them from Spain my Spanish bank charged 12 euro. The exchange and forwarding to my UK bank via Currency Fair only costs 3 euro. When done from UK transfer to currency fair is free so total only costs 3 euro not 15. But that was down to my spanish bank charges. All ways will end up costing something all you can do is minimize the cost and of course deal with who suits your needs

Hi Jon,
Sorry I haven't found another way yet....:( |
Re: Sending money to UK
have a look at ICICI Bank, I know someone that used them to transfer money whilst abroad back home to the UK and found them extremely useful. Maybe they can help you too.

But yes, €12 is a little higher than normal going Spain to UK. |
