selling used car privately

Can anyone give me any hints / advice and pitfalls on the best and safest way to sell my car privately. I presume it would be best to use a gestor for the transfer and would it be better to have the money from the sale paid to the gestor?
Any advice much appreciated.

Absolutely essential you make sure the buyer takes ownership legally as without it you will still be liable for any fines/misdemeanours that occur after you let him drive away. Use a gestor (there's a great one in Estepona) to do it is my advice.

We sold our car to a local and used a Gestor, was very easy, but road tax needs to be up to date as does ITV if it needs one. Am assuming it is Spanish plated.

The requirements outlined above say everything about why Spain needs reform in so many areas.
A gestor to sell a car? I don't doubt it for one moment, however, when I look back at my car buying and selling experiences back in the UK I can't believe it was all so easy and straightforward.
