Selling In Spain
 

After many years we have now sold because of health reasons. Sale is completed but I'm unsure if I need to record the transaction on my UK tax return. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

You will be responsible for tax in Spain, normally 3% of the sale proceeds is retained. If you did not make a profit this can be recovered.

AFIK, there is no need to declare to HMRC, but you might want to give them a phone?

Many thanks - I thought that was the case but somebody had planted a doubt in my mind about reporting the gain on my UK tax return.
