A School Trip ??

5 Attachment(s)
Last Saturday we went on a School Trip !!!!

We have spanish lesson in the local school for adults, all free given by the lovely Chari paid for by the local council.

Any way, we were taken on a large bus along with various othe people from the town to a village called Benocaza, we arrived not knowing what to expect ?

Well it was just like a film set, about 20 other villages had arrived and set up camp in the serria we had banner saying which village we were from and tables were set up with all the local food and drink on display. Music was being played and people were dancing, later on other groups brought food for us to sample, and out came the guitars and the music was being played.

I think the small group of Imigrants were a novelty as we were the only village with other nationalitys in the groups. We were made so welcome by every village and made to feel as we belonged.

It was a day to remember and well a wonderful experiance

Just thought I would share it with you all

Thanks for posting this.

What a great experience and such an insight into the Spanish way of doing things.

Think this should be moved from siesta time though.

Great! I’m looking forward to community activities like this. You beat Surrey Heath easily!

It surely boils down to ‘live to work or work to live’…

Or as it really is, running like crazy to stay still, compared to a better pace of life.

Plus in your time off you get to do something better than staring out of the window at grey skies and rain.

"Work to live not live to work"
I think that statement is the reason we are here. my head told me that "my job was my life " I then took a long hard look at my life and changed it

Bill the blue skies is a great wake up in a morning dull grey skies are few and very far between

I am so looking forward to it. The crap, grey weather here just does my head in.

I laugh when people tell me I will get bored with sunshine. Like that would be worse than being bored with rain and cold!!!

Or the wackos that tell me 'There are cloudy days in Spain bil':rofl::rofl:

bil, it has been sunshine all day here! Yesterday was a different story...:D

Sharon, the food & drink sounds tremendous. Was it an end of term party for your class? Or, just a good excuse to have a picnic in the countryside in the beautiful springtime?

Yeah, OK I'm envious enough, don't make it worse!

Still, at least I shall be out there for the next 5 weeks, which will take the sting out of it.

The picnic posted about reminds me of the last time I was out and there was a switching on ceremony for the new street lights with the local mayor.

There were tables out and all the village were out eating round the tables and chatting. A very nice atmosphere.

Well I'm not too far from you and it's hardly been crap and grey today, has it?

Nope, I will give you that, today has been pleasant. Not brilliant, but OK.

The problem is that here in the UK, I find myself a bit unimpressed by the odd nice day, given that I know so well that the grey will be back very soon.

In Spain the odd bit of cloud doesn't depress as I know there will always be a plentiful supply of perfect sunny days.

Carol,
No it is just a get together. We have been on 2 other trips since September and numerous other activitys in the village. We are going to Granada for 2 days in October to visit the Alambra, we went to Cordoba and that was fantastic. I was with the teachers from the school and they were discusing another get together in July, it is what real Spain is, and I love every day.

And yes Bill the blue skys are amazing, on a rare visit to the Uk a few weeks ago, some one said to me it is a nice day today and the sky is blue, its not the same blue.

Quite right, like watered milk or beer. Plus, in the UK if the sun shines for more than ten minutes, it is officially a lovely day. (sigh)
