I´ve just checked and we´re still on here in Chiclana.

All seems OK here - quite near Gib so you can't get much further south than this.

if its any consolation I have steadily been losing channels on my TDT terrestial reception. Starts off as pixelating and then just gets worse.
as we are are about a third the way up the slope to the mountain top where the transmitting aerials are mounted that covers most of the Poniente then it must be something to do with the kit.

perhaps our antenna connection is a bit dodgy, but like satellite digital terrestial is less forgiving than the old analogue signals.

There have been no satellite changes for several weeks, and no signal changes. So any problems will be down to your own individual system.

.............. yip, or one of those inexplicable glitches which comes from the ether just to confuse and randomly stops and starts things (specifically electronic things) seemingly at will!!!

aok now. Thanks all :)

Cue for Tommy, methinks.

I believe we are in a period of high sunspot activity - this effects many things, especially satellites who are more prone to such interference than ground based transmissions.
:(

Could be - I was having problems this evening with the sound dropping out for a few seconds both on TV and radio.

although the freqs are different lots of amateurs have been making comment about it
but would have thought the problem wouldn't just be apparent by loss of sound only, vision should also be effected in some way.

although generally cyclical sunspot activity isn't an exact science and it isn't possible to control it nor to evade it if a corona heads towards a batch of satellites, which have some protection but not much. That is why terrestial is generally less prone to such interference, being much further away with some protection from the ionisphere.

We lose a lot of TDT channels when it rains. Common problem apparently.

do you have a large , fix dish ? or a smaller one, and perhaps mobile ?
makes a huge diff.

has it been precisely pinpointed for max signal reception ?

Don't have a dish, just a regular aerial. I think it's more a case of the transmitters being useless in the rain rather than the receivers, since it has happened everywhere we've lived in Madrid.
