But as of this morning you need a sky card to view this test of C4HD it as it has now gone scrambled...
but you still cannot access / scan it into a Sky box, so only available on some HD receivers that are capable of reading sky cards....

And although there have been applications to Ofcom for some more HD channels, they may never appear, or they may be on the Sky HD service only. Personally I am waiting for Film4HD to come onto satellite....

but you know you can do a "non freesat" mode scan and get ALL the free to air channels, and not just those on the Freesat EPG...although there is not much worth shouting about, Sky news, a few shopping channels, and a few more "slappers on sofa" channels.

Can I do all this on a Freesat TV if so how? I have a freesat/freeview Panasonic TV so Freesat for UK sat channels and freeview for Spanish freeview channels. Can I put this in non EPG mode? I know I can do a manual freesat Scan but I thought this just put new EPG channels when they come on stream where they should be.

This version of C4HD has not been added to the EPG yet, and will not be until April when it offically launches on freesat (so they say...)!
This is only a test signal.
If you wanted it then in nonfreesat mode you have to manually add it...you may even have to manually add the transponder data to the transponder list in your freesat TV if that transponder is not already in the list.
But even then it makes no difference to you now, as it is encrypted and needs a sky card to view...probably realised it was available FTA to areas it should not be...it is only a test signal after all!!

The Freesat EPG should update automatically when new channels come on line.
Non Freesat does a scan of ALL tranponders for ALL free to air channels, and populates the nonfreesatmode EPG only. If new channels turn up then you have to rescan again to add them to the nonfreesatmode EPG. Or you can (should be able to) just scan an individual transponder. The nonfreesatmode EPG does not automatically update.

Yes my freesat EPG does update automatically or if not a message tells me to update. By "Non-Freesat" do you mean manual scan?
