Sat nav

Hi,
i have bought a sat nav with a European map, do they work well in Spain? i know i have 75% coverage in Spain but am unsure how reliable they actually are.
All help will be appreciated :)

It depends on the make. I have a TomTom Go 910 which is pretty much up to date. When the maps become outdated you can download new ones onto its hard drive but you do have to pay for them.

It also warns of speed cameras but you have to pay an annual fee to keep the locations updated.

HI,
Its the new navman icn 550 :)
it says this on it
compact, mobile voice guided gps navigation
pre-installed, detailed maps of western europe on 4gb hard drive
3.5 full color touch screen
fuel and park buttons
automatic re-routing, bringing you back on track
It has been pretty spot on but then over in spain i have not tried yet.
:)

Most Sat Navs are accurate to within about 5 meters i believe, since the US military control most of the satellites the accuracy is within an allowed band of points.

As to the currency of the maps then i agree with the other post in that you can download on a regular basis. Try Multimap http://www.multimap.com/map/home.cgi...dvanced=&db=ES

Or http://www.memory-map.co.uk/
Since they write much of the software for the Sat Navs.
