Default Samsung Smart TV - any UK channels with Wifi but no DNS or VPN?

Hi there some friends are staying in our apartment and after 4 months of promised visits we now have Wifi in the apartment. We have a Samsung F series Smart TV.
we had a trial with Smartydns which has now elapsed and want to do the fiddling with settings on the TV ourselves in case anything goes wrong.
At the moment they can watch free to air Spanish channels through our community ariel but is there anything else they can do in the short term to watch any UK channels please or anything english speaking?
They have a young lad with them and he would appreciate a bit of home comforts. Thanks for any help

Yes, you can hack the TV to give you the UK apps which include all 4 channels catch up service. To actually receive them, you will need to activate your SmartyDNS account and it should then work fine.

thanks for answers. We never got to actually use the Smartydns trial as the internet has only just been connected today. To the other contributor regarding filmon.com, can this be viewed without DNS or VPN?

Filmon does not require a VPN or Smart DNS.

You can get a good number of Spanish channels in the original English if you tell the TV to use version original where it is being transmitted by the Spanish channels. A good one to start with is discovery max put that channel on then use the TV controller to change the language to English. Not familiar with Samsung but when we stay in Spanish hotels and there are no apparent English programmes I hunt around with the controller for a Spanish channel showing an American programme then find the audio control and switch to VO. That way all English VO programmes come up in the original English. Must annoy the hell out of the next Spanish occupants of the room.
