The most disrespect being shown to these woman in question are the posters porporting them as some kind of brainless slaves.
Utterly ridiculous thing to suggest they might have been sacked for not posing, and though many might find it difficult to accept, it is the dream of many woman to pose for a photo shoot!

You can see much more than page 3 on any Spanish beach.
You see huge posters and billboards of women (and men) in their underwear all over Spanish cities. Some of those images can really cause a double-take.
And Spanish teenagers in their short-shorts in the summer. Hardly worth wearing them.
Not seen anything like that back in old blighty.
And yes, the back pages of newspapers can really make for an interesting read.

So don't know where you get your idea of Spain being very progressive re women.

Far more likely they asked if anyone wanted to do it and some did.

I really, really can't envisage some high up in Ryanair going to the sexy ones as individuals and suggesting that they get their kit off for this calendar else face the sack. That would be asking for an expensive tribunal.

The point is that this petty pointless case would not have got anywhere near a Court had a Spanish company been involved.
On the contrary they would probably be held up as a shining example of generosity and righteousness for all to follow.

In a country where virtually every devious sexual practice is openly advertised and readily available for peanuts at the drop of a hat, this particular hypocritical case brought forward for such obvious ulterior motives, looks even more ridiculous than ever.

Have you never noticed C'man on crossing the border from Portugal and France, the row upon row of whorehouses and hookers plying their scanty wears on the Spanish side of the border only and asked yourself why only on the Spanish side ?

Add to that the zillions of sex for sale ads in the Spanish daily rags for all to see and the freely available porno on TV channels and somehow Spain hardly looks to be a shining example of decency and righteousness where attitudes to women are concerned.

Yeh, "in the land of the blind" Cman, in the land of the blind !

It's nothing short of a miracle that the whole damned country hasn't gone blind. :rofl:

Let me suggest a completely new idea.
The UK government provide funds for research into breast cancer/ relief of homelessness/ prostate cancer, etc. by a small tax related to income if necessary, ( including their own) and we would not need charity appeals, poppy collections, red nose days etc. But would this be too simple. I write as someone who has walked from John O Groats to Lands End for charity.

Well done on the walk! Yes your proposal is too simple an idea, a new tax won't stop charities touting for money because there will never be enough money. What with the need to employ executives of the right calibre and pay a "fair market" wage to them. The offices to fund and the PR team, plus the advertising budget and the psychology input. It seems the only expanding area of the economy is the charities, soon they will run for office, well at least they have the funding.
Finally it would not be a charity if it was compulsory.

Well, going back to the UK for Christmas. I am told that the only High street shops that are doing well are the charity shops. Will get a chance to see for myself. The "walk" by the way, was actually a bed push, and was some time ago! Don't think I could do it now.
