Ryanair shocks me again

Re: Ryanair shocks me again
I usually fly into Valencia and last Easter was stuck in a queue for about an hour! However, I agree that the process is usually quite quick nowadays.

so going back to the orginal post I take it that most of you expect to spend part of your holiday finding an internet service so that you can monitor your departure flight? which of course will have to be paid for. I have been on approx 40 foreign holidays from the UK and never had to check my return flight home, why would it be any different for just flights.

Worth the ticket money alone.

On this occasion though we are talking about cut price airlines and a flight that was changed long before the change happened.
If you have a smart phone you can get an app that you can monitor flights, and I hate to say it but Ryanair offer an SMS service so it could have been done that way as well (needless to say at a small cost)

Why should you have to go searching for an internet cafe. If you book a flight for a certain day then why would you expect it to be changed. A delay yes possibly but not the whole date.

Re: Ryanair shocks me again
when it comes to it the moral of the story is to Check, Check, Check.
I doubt very much many people here or anywhere else check as fully as perhaps we ought to. The main thing I remember doing is to double check the flight time, not the date. I normally dont book in for both ways until about 4-5 days before leaving, as I don't have a printer at the other end at the moment.
RYR ask for a contact method, I usually go for email and mobile. So that they changed the flight several weeks before hand would have been flagged.
Sorry the OP has had all these problems, but I cannot see it is RYR's fault, they would appear to have been sending information about the change. If its anyone's fault it is the one who hacked the email account.
We have all got so used to doing things on the net and expecting it to be there when and where ever we expect it.

Re: Ryanair shocks me again
In 30 years of weekly air travel i have flown 'em all from BA to Ryanair.
In that time BA have changed times and dates many more times than Ryanair.
Ryanair are the most popular airline in europe (carrying way more passengers than BA) for one reason only:
"they give people what they want at a price they can afford."
They are also the most punctual of the UK airlines (2010).
Ryanair customer service on the plane has never been anything other than pleasant, about the same as BA trolley dollies but the BA dolls don't have to clean the plane so they've more time for preparing.
you do need to read your tickets and emails and most people are up to that. If not you can always go BA/Iberia (although in the case discussed you would also have to read tickets and emails.)
I have just returned on a flight with a budget ticket from BA. Could i change the date? No. Could I change the name on the ticket? No. Had to buy another ticket. At least the budget boys let you do that, even if it costs.

BA never change scheduled flights except in cases like strikes. You can also make changes...for a cost. In the small print of all airlines it does advise confirming the flight times 24 hours before.

I have to use internet cafes when I'm away from home as I don't own any portable technology.

Re: Ryanair shocks me again
You cannot make changes FOR ANY COST on a basic BA economy flight. Check it out before posting an opinion rather than a fact. YOU CANNOT CHANGE EITHER FLIGHT DATES OR NAMES ON BA CHEAPEST FLIGHTS. The same is true of Virgin. Take a look at their terms and conditions and then return and apologise. Of course you can change anything on business class, or premium tickets, but then you're in another ball game. Why people believe this nonsense is beyond me.
BA sucks - and that's why the airline and its spoiled little over paid trolley dollies will soon be seeking jobseekers allowance.
Soon you won't have a choice. Either Uncle Mick or Ezy. Traditional carriers have deservedly been losing market share for the last 20 years. Oh, or you could take the ferry....
