Ryanair - Can´t Believe It!
Just browsing around looking at jobs and went to Ryanair´s website for cabin crew and they charge you for your five week´s training! They state that this is because it is done by a third party company!!!

The health care company my daughter went to work for claused her contract that if she left within a year they would recharge here / deduct from wages so many weeks pay, to compensate them for the training that they would give her over that period!!!

I'm not sure it would stand up to UK law ...... all work contracts have to be subject to UK employment law, and that particular ploy seems to be pushing it a bit

I know that if you try and tell an employee they have to pay for safety gear you are in breach of the law.

Re: Ryanair - Can´t Believe It!
bad news for us as both Airline off spain SPANAIR Staff cuts of 1,100, some 29% of the workforce were announced earlier this week. The airline is also going to leave nine of its planes on the ground during September and October.
The unions in Spanair have asked the company that the redundancies that they want to make take the form of early retirement and for those workers who want to leave
AirEuropa to to make cut but wont know untill next week about what actions there taken to save cost at the Airline
Ryanair Chairman, Michael O’Leary, said that airport charges and the massive increase facing the company in fuel prices made it more profitable for Ryanair to leave planes on the ground , this happen all over there Eu bases with Dublin Ireland been hardest hit with 18% Schedule Reductions at Dublin for Winter ’08/’09 thats 10 planes been ground for winter while in Spain , suspension of their services in Palma and Valencia as part of a 14% cutback in flights. Flights to another five Spanish destinations are also set to be suspended between November 4 and December 19.
not all good news for us flying this winter , fewer seats and highter charges

I was told yesterday that Ryanair are stopping all flights into Jerez from Stansted during the winter months but they are keeping their Stansted to Sevilla flights and Liverpool to Sevilla. Does anyone know if this is true? They are down to one a day at the moment, into and out of Jerez.

Ah well, I will just have to keep my fingers crossed. I certainly haven't been on a Ryan flight this year that wasn't booked solid.
