Rugbymatt

This morning we've learned that Matt Gilbert AKA Rugbymatt on these forms has passed away. Have no other information other than that, but just letting those older forum members here who knew him well know
We used to have a lot of banter on here back in the day, and enjoyed his posts ....... albeit sometimes they were a little contentious

Thank you Mitzy for letting us know. Very sad to hear this. Matt and I used to interact a fair amount and yes we often disagreed but still remained friendly. When Graham died he sent me a lovely PM.

RIP Matt.

Yes, this was a bit of a different place back then where there was a lot of banter all the time, with Pete from WebSpain, Jon Worby, Sam, Rugbymatt and many many others - Times change of course , it was always a challenge modding back then

Mitzy. Matt spent a lot of time in TIO so I wondered whether you were planning to put a thread in there too.

So sorry to hear of that. I remember having some good old ping pong 'debates' with him, especially about farming, when I first joined nearly 11 years ago.
I seem to think that he lived in the same Norfolk village as my sister.....Melton Constable, though I cannot remember how I got to know.
Sad news. Thank you for keeping us informed.

He was a great gardener and gave lots of really good advice.

Thats right, he did move around a lot but last I heard he was living in the Norfolk area, running his own gardening business I think

Just letting you know that the coroner conclusion was that the cause of death was peritonitis
