OK Gotta update you all. We moved to Marbella from Fuengirola only a year ago and last november enrolled son at 15years into the local rugby club. He had only played footie, volleyball, handball and basketball until then.

He took to it and the cadets (under 16s) built a team with him as main stay (6ft 3 and a powerhouse).

In may he went with the team to the league finals for Marbella and was spotted by the Andalucian team coach - and today he went to Seville for training!

He will be back tonight with all the news but I just had to share that - we are so proud of him and shows what can be done by ex-pats.

We have had nothing but encouragement and not been treated any differently by the Spanish in any way and that goes for everything we have been involved in

Anyway - off to celebrate now!!

Have a great one everyone!!

That is fantastic news!

Gandia has a rugby club in case nobody has mentioned it yet as of course does Denia. It is growing in popularity here definitely.

Too old for it now myself, but I used to play for Sedgely Park (now the Tigers) and taught it at school too.

The Mojacar town hall has organised a Rugby club.
The new Municipal Rugby-Football School starts on Thursday 10th January. Agustín, a keen rugger player from Carboneras, will be running this.

Elche, or Elx depending on how you want to spell it, also has a rugby team.
