Here's a link to michelin maps who calculate mileage/kilometres, fuel costs and time. There are loads like this if you Google.

When I drove down from Dover to Cadiz with tolls it was near 450 euros. word of warning don't stop near Madrid there is a lot of crime, stop either 100 k this side or 100 k the other side, apart from that you will love it you get to see some lovely parts of Spain, good luck

Oh dear. That doesn't sound good! I had a go myself on the website and travelling via Cordoba in a family-sized saloon it came to 1961 kms., tolls 55.60€, petrol 206.35€, total 261.95€. I'll have a go now with mappy.com

You are probably looking at getting 8-9 km per litre on say something like a shogun 2.5 deisel about 22-24 miles per gallon equivalent on my sat nav i have 1630 miles to Murcia roughly 2716.66 km = 301.85 litres at 9kms per litre at 90 cents per litre = 271.66 euros plus tolls

regards paul

same engine as my calculations shogun L200 the same, you may not be able to re-register your L200 in Spain as its classed as a comercial, however add the additional distance to Cordoba, i think your original distance was pretty near

RHD pickup trucks cannot be registered in Spain as, if they are fully loaded, then they will fail the all round visibility requirement just like a commercial van.

It is a slightly grey area and it may well depend on the individual ITV station that you take it to when you try to re-register it.

Be prepared for a failure.

Hi,

I have only driven through that area and i am not familiar with it, perhaps a thread along the lines of your question might help. Our place is inland the other side of Murcia City, in the ricote Valley, or Valle de ricote. Our nearest Town is Blanca with its river and man made beaches, its 45 mins from San Javier or Alicante by car, good luck with your search.

Paul

Nice area, we are in Playa Flamenca, and there are plenty of places round here, cheaper inland of course. Weather is excellent, even now we have daytime 20s and at night down to about 12. My wife was taking 3 tablets a day for arthritis in the UK, now down to one alternate days. New urbanisations opening regularly, and they are legal, although we bought a resale which avoids the pitfalls. Nice and quiet, but plenty of places for the evenings if you want to go out. Lots of small businesses run by Expats, look at some of the on line papers to get an idea. Round Town News, The Leader, Coast Rider are all free papers here, Costa Blanca News is one you buy. All will have information on the area you are interested in.
