roquetas de mar

Hello again:)

Does anyone have any information about this town, please? I've seen a property I really like, and I wonder if there are any disadvantages in the town, before I arrange a visit. Is it relatively quiet, rowdy, very Spanish or a cosmopolitan mix

Many thanks,

We have only been there for hols/ short breaks. It seems to be a nice town with quite a mix. We stayed at a hotel ( mediterraneo park) in Jan this year and it was 18C. We met another British couple who complained that there not enough "Brits" around, so you can make of that what you will. Being Almeria expect it to be hot in summer, but the mountains are only a couple of hours drive away. Long sandy beaches and very long cycle paths if you are into that. Hope this helps
Pete

It's a small fishing town with a large 'urbanisación' next door, where all the hotels are. It's the leader for hotels in Almeria province with a mixture of Brit and German holidaymakers. There are few foreign residents (the main areas are Mojácar and surrounds, plus Albox and surrounds). Nearby Roquetas is the marina of Almerimar (you have to drive through the plastic farms of El Ejido).

It's surprising what you find hidden amongst the plastic :)
