Hi

Ronda is a very beautiful (at least parts of it) and very touristy town/city.

I don't suppose too many expats actually live there but it is visited by hundreds or even thousands every day.

Yes - a good place to experience Spanish life but you can actually do that anywhere - it all depends on what you want.

Are you thinking of living there, holidaying or just visiting?

I am over in February for 3 weeks when I hope to find a nice place to stay for up to 6 months. Andalucía seems a great place though I would not want to be in the thick of the bar culture on the coast.

I think Ronda is well worth a look. Not a huge place but lots to see, great eating, good rail links, not far from airport, coast and spectacular countryside - lots going for it.

A short rail trip to my favourite restaurant anywhere.

Great. Have you any idea what a one bedroom furnished house or apartment would cost to rent per month?

At 6 months you are between holiday lets (expensive) and long lets (often a minimum of a year.

For guidance you would probably be able to rent something long term for maybe 300 Euros per months whereas a holiday let is going to be more expensive - possibly that much or more per week.

Here are some holiday lets and I think these are long term.

The best thing is to have a look when you are there - maybe find a local estate/letting agent.

Thanks for your help. I will do that. I will be making my way up from Malaga. Could you suggest a route that would take in some towns that I may find suitable also?

The best route to Ronda from the coast is unfortunately not the most practical from Malaga

A405, Taraguilla through Estacion to Almoraima and Castellar, Marchenilla,Los Angeles, Jimena,San Pablo de Buciete, Gaucin,
Then A369 to Algatocin,Benadalid, Atajate to Ronda.

Lots of villages and stupendous scenery.

Also the train from Algeciras takes a similar equally stunning route.

I would like a base to explore from and if anyone can point me in the right direction to rent a place for 3 weeks that would be great.
