RHD cars
I brought my RHD car out because I love it and I'm probably silly, and find that despite having the A/C filled and serviced in UK, it doesn't do much here. Are AC units smaller on cars sold in UK? And if I recover my sanity and sell it, does anyone know of RHD specialist dealers in and around Malaga?

Re: RHD cars
RHD cars are worth very little here UNLESS you have had it matriculated onto Spanish plates, as without that it is almost certainly illegal here, just read the numerous threads about RHD cars in Spain.

Yes, I plan to change plates. I did check the law, it's pretty absurd, but I have a years UK road tax and MOT, and it seems as long as I'm not in Spain for long periods, and the car off the road when I'm away, I'm OK for a year.

Lots of adverts in local freebie papers which are online ,Sur in english, Friday Ads etc) for people willing to buy UK cars but obviously want to give very little for them.
I've had dealings with www.automaticobuls.com in Fuengirola and bought my previous car from him and know that he has taken UK cars in PX in the past. His name is Bogi, he's Serbian but speaks excellent English and Spanish and is a nice guy.

I read somewhere that older Spanish drivers quite like RHD as it keeps them from falling into that vertical drainage ditch that you find on so many roads.

NO YOU ARE NOT!!!!!!!!!!! Please read any of the threads on re registering cars. Once the car has been out of the UK for 6 months, then it HAS to be re registered, if you are classed as a resident here then it MUST be re registered within 60 days of you going on the padron. Just because it is taxed and MOT'd does not save you from the problems. You will have to have the ferry/tunnel ticket to show how long it has been in Spain. It isn't how long YOU are in Spain, but the CAR.

It must have been, what, two weeks without a decent RHD / UK car thread.

>>It isn't how long YOU are in Spain, but the CAR.<< And I did read the latest update of "You and the Law in Spain" too. It must be wrong. And my solicitors here, I'll tell them off when I visit next. I guess I just have to drive back to UK before the tax and MOT expires. But then, I'm not resident there either now! Hmm. So much for the EU eh? (No surprise there)
PS. Yes, I should have looked at earlier threads. Sorry all. It was really about the AC

Don't get us all started again ....
Breaking the law in this way is not only irresponsible but plain STUPID.
If you have an accident you are NOT insured so if you injure anyone, who's paying the hospital bills etc.......:curse:
