Thanx Matt, my hubby is atree surgeon and also a motorbike mechanic so hopefully he will get work in that area, but as you say we might be cleaning boats. Learning Spanish just now and not doing too bad. We do have our heads screwed on and are very determined. Travelling in camper so will be able to suss the area out and if we dont like it we can move on, which I think is a bonus. Not really sure where we will end up!!!

They were nothing to do with Spain, its people, its culture, its ethics or even its foreign policy. Just because I was young free and single does that make my opinion not count? Honestly woman, you come on here, are OK for a bit and then you start don't you? I have never made any intimation that I lived in Spain, if I did why would I have started a thread announcing I was moving back, why would I constantly ask questions about banks, cars and god knows what ever else I have. If you don't like my posts then just don't reply, you only wanted my answer in the first place to prove a point about Spain. I noticed you never piped up when a certain poster was slagging off the UK and I was defending it?! In case you hadn't noticed I havent been around so couldn't defend you in your arguments...I don't even know what went on, but if you were defending the UK good for you its a fab place! |

Re: returning home
I really like this forum, and find most people are willing to help out with any queeries but I dont know, is it just me, but most threads end up really argumentative! I am new to this and thought i would actually be able to meet future friends through the forum. Come on guys lets have a bit of banter, we are all on here for different reasons and all have different points of view, but be nice.. so no more arguing.. Pleeeeaaaaz xx:sad_smile:

Re: returning home
I can only agree with that. It is nice to hear the pros and cons and I am sure we all respect other peoples point of view even if ours is different, but then I guess that is what "conversation" is all about.
I am willing to hear everybody's story as I am sure I will be able to learn from everybody's experiences, be they good or not so good. |
Re: returning home
Hi there,
We were very young when we moved over here , I was 28 and hubby was 32. We bought a house that is nearly 30 years old , and seems to be coming apart at the seams. We had a limited amount for doing the place up and that went in the first 3months.We have been here 3 years next month and although I love living in Spain , Spanish people etc ,I dislike my house (I dont want to say hate :frown:) Well let me get to the point , we just decided one day that we wanted a new start, and we decided on Spain(my husband lived in Mallorca, as a child). Now my hubby is fluent in Spanish , speaking and writing and also Valenciano. He cant find a job anywhere:confused:.He has his own business, but it doesnt seem to be going anywhere(people dont seem to want to pay for anything). He cant find anything here , so he has had to resort to looking in the u.k. He would live out there and I would stay here till this place sold, doesnt sound like a great solution to me , but needs must. Anna |

are you for real you need to take a chill pill mate! where did I say I didn't like your posts?

You never had to say a thing GTBB it is the hostility in your posts to me that say that, but hey, what do I know. All I can say is that you and I know that you were hoping I would come out with something negative about Spain and I didn't. I have been very realistic about life in Spain and have never ever said that Spain is a perfect paradise, I have always maintained that Spain is right for some and wrong for others. That was obviously the case for you so why don't we leave it at that. By your own admission you have nothing good to say about the country and will never be back there so why are you posting? |

Saying that intergration, learning the lingo, having no probs finding work, and arriving with a tenner may make other people think that it is an easy ride in Spain. Is there a rule against people who do not reside in a country any longer to post in that forum? if so admin could you let me know? I've explained on numerous occasions why I post here, I really don't need to explain myself to you RM again. btw the only hostility I'm feeling is the hostility coming from your posts in my direction. Like the way you refer to me. I'm not the one with the problem, I do not dislike anyone here least of all you, I have no reason too. out of interest RM how long did you live in Spain for? and whereabouts were you? |

There is no rule at all, and I am certainly not someone to dictate, but PLEASE! read the way the thread evolved. My exact post was................ "I arrived in Spain with a tenner, no friends and no Spanish, but I accept your point of view" Now that sentence would signify that I accepted Freds point of view, to a degree I agreed but as the word "I" intimates, it was ME, so its a personal experience, I am not saying that everyone can or will, just that I did. Now since you keep pushing and pressing, I lost something in Spain, that's why I left, for no other reason than I couldn't deal with the pain. As I have already said, you are very clever at being all sweetness and like, and................................oh do you know what, I cant be arsed, I was warned about you from another site, so I am better off just pretending you are not posting yeah? |
Re: returning home
you shouldn't listen to idle gossip (especially from other sites) and you shouldn't judge until you've walked a mile in a persons shoes. I'm not out to get at anyone at all, hand on my heart. I'm sorry for your loss.
