Just saw that Anyma (the old 'flowerpots' tapa resto) is no 1 on TripAdvisor for Ayamonte.

Note the new opening times from 1 October.

Can't wait to try it!!

We have tried to eat there since getting back this semester but never found them open. We made another attempt this evening around 20.30, they were open and only one table at the back inside with two diners. We sat at the front inside and enjoyed two excellent dishes shared. They are about media in size but more than sufficient and they were superb. New opening hours from Sunday.

Trip Advisor is no help at all with regard to Restaurants. Did you hear about the bar in France, which does not serve food , which was rated on trip advisor as the 138 ( or whatever) place for food in his town? The owner tried to get himself removed from the list, and failed, but generated so much publicity that he is now the No.1 for food in that town, but he still does not serve it!

For those who might be interested: We discovered a lovely little tiny restaurant in Villablanca. They serve spanish food from a excellent Quality . We had Porco Iberico with Fries. The portions were not huge but quite enough. Compared to downtown Ayamonte ,it seems that the prices were a little bit lower.
The place is called: Meson La Posada ,
It is on the main road almost on the end of town on your left side.

Re: Restaurants

I just received an email from a friend with some superlatives about the Sunday lunch at Boozy Elephant, as one of the best the family has ever had!! They are big fans of Sunday lunches too, so have good experience of this.

Boozy Elephant
Calle Lusitania, 16, 21400 Ayamonte, Huelva, Spain

I have had mixed feedback about the food at the Golf Club... However very positive about the new look and the 'vibe' in the club.

Can anyone let us know about the food quality, price etc in the GC please? If you are there with a camera phone it would be great to see the menu. Also do they do daily specials, Sunday lunches etc, please?

I just checked and all I saw was the Golf fees.

I think it would be really helpful to see the food + drink menu if someone is there with a camera/phone.

Also any feedback from people that have actually eaten there.... would be great

We have eaten at BE the last 2 sundays and it was the best lunch since “Gavin” in la Lota. The pork and crackling was particularly good on our first week. Different main and sweet each week so far (3) and SWMB said the bread & butter pudding and custard this week was amazing.

We go to the GC tonight with A&M for our fist sit down meal so only had the buffet on opening night which was really good. Again heard mixed report one disappointment with a burger but it is early days we shall see.

The menus have been on here somewhere but they are on the GC WEBSITE.

Hi Jon. Hope your both keeping well. The tall pines restaurant ( On the way to Christina ) has opened up again
Lunch time only. Meal of the day 7.50€ Very good..

We have used the BRASERIA Restaurant on the right going down the hill into town a few times recently
Service and food excellent.. and certainly not over priced..Worth a try.

As you know we call that resto 'Bill's restaurant' and really glad that it's reopened. Can't wait to try it again, especially as you recommend it!

We went to the Brasseria once, but were too early, at 1pm and want to go again after 2-2:30 on a weekend when we are sure it will be buzzing....

In case anyone wants to try this resto...

Drive PAST the Isla Christina turn off from the 'coast road' from Ayamonte to Lepe. Heading towards Lepe. You can get there on this road and also from the m-way.

Its on the right just after 50-100 yards (old money :)). You cant miss it, the entrance is to a big car park just before a big pine tree.

Sundays from 2:30 to 3pm was heaving with a great local and fun Spanish crowd. I hope that this will happen again with the new management, also that the staff have returned... Very friendly!

Jon
