Resident Bank Account
Do all banks in Spain charge a quarter/yearly maintenace fee for a resident's bank account. We are currently with Lloyds/Halifax as non-residents but will need to change over in January. At the moment we are currently required to keep a 600 euros balance & fees of 3€ each per year for our cards. We also get the free transfers from our UK branch which we will need to continue. As far as we can make out a residents account incurs a yearly charge of 25 euros, is this correct? If so what do you get for that charge?
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

Re: Resident Bank Account
Solbank has no charges if you pay in approx €750 per month & have 3 DD's set up + there is a reabte of about 1% on your DD's. Not a lot I know but it's better in your pocket

Re: Resident Bank Account
I second that recommendation about Solbank. To be honest... even though some of our charges have a been a tad on the high side, they've refunded us when we've moaned. To be honest... we'd still be with them even WITH those charges, simply because we love the guys down at our branch - they couldn't be more helpful... and speak fluent English which has been a weight of our minds when it comes to financial matters.
