Default Residency and Estadistica expiry?

Hi,

Sorry I expect this info is on the forum and elswhere and is probably obvious but I cant seem to come across it at the moment.

I just want to find out when I have to renew my residency and estadistica registrations. (Sorry if terminology incorrect). I have residency for over 3 months up to 12 months. I rent in Alicante for 6 months a year (but less than 183 days) to avoid having to do Spanish tax returns.

Many thanks..

The first question has to be - "what is your nationality"?

I presume you are doing this in relation to beating Brexit? I.e. obtaining residencia. You may well find that further down the Brexit road when they bring in the equivalent of what UK is calling "settled status" we will all be required to prove we have been legally resident here before the cut off date. That will no doubt entail tax receipts as fiscal resident? Certainly people I know when applying after 5 years for permanent residency have had to do this. Reality is the residencia issued is temp for first 5 years then becomes permanent, if after say 180 days you leave Spain to be fiscal resident in UK you should cancel residency. If you don't leave then as you are aware you should the following May time they expect youyou sub tax forms. How or if they check I don't know? But the rules agreed with EU last Dec were that if you were "legally resident" pre brexit date with a deal then your EU rights to remain were protected. I may be wrong? But this is my understanding.

Does it have an expiry date on it? If not, then NO
