Residency

Someone has told me that the matter of not providing Photo Card residency cards for EU citizens has now been passed to the Euro High Court on the grounds that it is a form of discrimination against EU residents...

Anyone know anything more??

I must add that the new credit card sized residency cert is a lot easier to carry than the A4 version but sems pretty useless as if says clearly on it that it is not valid as proof of ID or nationality. If you don't have a photocard license, you are resuced to carry a passport. I've tried a notarised copy of it in the past and while Guardia and such accepted it, certain supermarkets would not accept as proof of ID when using a debit or credit card.

That's complete rubbish - it was the EU that imposed the new certificate on Spain and banned the need for residency cards for EU nationals!

Any European forced to carry passport plus a police-issued ID document is discriminatory. They'll be asking for a yellow triangle on our tee shirts next.
