:)Please help with some information ive moved to majorca could anybody please tell me the benifit's of getting spanish RESIDENCIA and also has anyone the address or how to get to the office in palma many thanks.

It is a legal requirement if you live in Spain, if you are a UK citizen you will get a Residencia certificate, if you are from outside the EU you will get a residencia card after supplying photos and fingerprints.
Both are available from the local National Police Station.

Can anyone please tell me what I got to fill in for the new residencia form for parts 2, 3 & 4? I don't seem to be able to find the instructions to fill those parts of the form.

2 - if you are adding family to the same form.

3 - Ditto

4 - Adddress if they have to contact you - usually the same one that you have used at the top of the form.

The key point about section 3 is to put a cross in the very first box "Certificado Registro residente communitario".

I'll get my neighbor to take me to Orihuela police station to get that done. I presume this is like NIE where they give you a form & I got to take it to the bank to pay & then go back to the police station?
Is this correct since my lawyer did the NIE for me due to my agent's fault & I'm not going to pay him another 125 euro to get the residencia done, have to do it myself this time.

Yes that's right you should be given a Form 790. The fee is €10.00 to my knowledge and they will print off the Residencia form there and then.

And he would of got the NIE number chucked in for free if he had gone for the residencia first. ;);)

'round here they've just changed the rules on getting NIE's / residencia's.

Friends of ours are buying a second property on the coast and want to buy it in their 3 children's names. So, first step they thought, let's get NIE's when the kids are over in the summer.

They went down to get an NIE and were told that they could not have one without disclosing the reason for wanting it. So, they stated that they were buying a property. They were then told to come back once they had found the property and had paid the deposit!!!

Well, this would not be possible as our friend (their father) has been granted power-of-attorney so that he can conclude the purchase without having to have all the children over at the same time. BUT, they will have to have NIE's first. This was all explained but they were refused and have been unable to get their NIE's - what do they do now? Perhaps they should apply via the consulate in UK???:thumbdown:
