Hi, heard a rumour the requirements of moving to Spain have changed for Brits after Brexit? Husband is retired, I'm coming up to retirement. Any info gratefully received.

How can anything "have changed" ie be in the past, AFTER something that hasn't happened yet ie is in the future? The OP appears to be living life backwards.
Which could be good if you have started collecting your pension this year after retiring next year.

I had thought that come Spring 2019 with a brexit deal, everything would start to become clear. However a No-Deal brexit is looking ever more likely which means that even after the official brexit, any and all future agreements and requirements will need to be negotiated. There's a long long way to go on this yet and for the moment, even the promise that 'those already living there' as was reported a while back, may be off the agenda with a No-Deal.

If you have been in Spain, and on the register for 5 years it will make no difference as you legally have the right of permanent residence under Spanish Law.

JMW634, the recipcrocal health arrangements are outwith EU jurisdiction. so no matter what kind of deal prevails, this arrangement can still prevail. But, we do not know if it will. Likewise, even if we remained, this arrangement could be curtailed or changed if the partners wanted this. eg Britain withdrew S1 and winter fuel payments. So we do not know

Winter fuel payments were withdrawn several years ago for uk expats in Spain .

Nothing of real note, other than it's looking more and more likely that the UK may fall out of the EU, with no deal. Although the rights of EU citizens in the UK and UK citizens in the EU have already been agreed, in the work to a deal... all bets are off in a no deal situation.

Did you mean Spanish law or an EU Directive which includes words like:- should, period of time to be determined, near as possible.
