renting in spain from UK Owners
 

Next April we plan to rent long term hopeful in an area that has a great uk expat community in spain by Murcia/Alicante airport. Any recommendations would be appreciated. We also would like to rent directly from a UK person who owns a property but would like to rent it out when they are not using it. We are flexible as we would just return to uk when they need to use it. Does anyone know a reliable site or forum for this type of let? Thank you to anyone who can help us.

If you know where you would like to live then you should fly there and see first hand what is available, who the agents are and what the rents are. We put fliers around where we wanted to live and found somewhere that way.

Here's an idea you might not have thought of https://www.trustedhousesitters.com/us/ I know several people who do this all over Europe and have had some interesting experiences house and pet sitting. Everyone involved is vetted, including sitters of course, and it's a great scheme if you're fancy free and don't have time constraints.
