As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

We live in Bizkaia; we considered renting from a fairly large company called 'Gorbea Rent' with a big branch in Vitoria (on the ring road direction Burgos).
They have a website. Rents are anything from €125/day all inclusive, which seemed very expensive for what we wanted, but maybe that's a typical price.

I've always considered campervans as a poor way to holiday especially in Spain where accommodation is very competitive.

In a hotel / B&B you get up in the morning and leave the cleaning up to someone else, in a camper it's you or your partner.
Then the fuel, parking, emptying the loo plus maneuverability problems.

Not for me, I'd rather a cheap car rental and then accommodation to suit my budget.

I would agree; a decent B&B can be had for €60, sometimes less, sometimes more.
Otherwise self catering, but that means you're tied to one place.
