Rental agreement template
 

Hi, I’m new here so apologies if this is covered, but couldn’t find anything in the search engine.
I’m currently in the UK, but plan to move to Spain in September and live in a flat belonging to my mother, who lives in the UK. I will be getting the flat ready for sale and have PoA in Spainish to sell it on her behalf. I believe I need a rental agreement to prove my address for my residency application. Can anyone send me a PDF Spanish rental agreement? I know I can get one from the tabac, but as I can’t now get to Spain before my move I won’t be able to get my mum to sign it! Feeling frustrated as travel has now been stopped from the uk! I then intend to buy a home for myself. Any help or suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance Maria

Thank you. As it my mothers apartment and she is letting me live there for free I return for decorating it and selling it for her, would you know if just a letter stating this would be sufficient for residency purposes?

I think you need to show a signed tenancy agreement - and given time is not really on your side I would not risk having all the complete papers required.

If you decide to proceed with just a letter you might be lucky on the day as us experienced Expats understand the vagueries of funcionarios which differs from region to region but personally I would not gamble as I would expect the new procedure to be applied to the letter of the law.

Had a further thought....you will need a padron from your local town hall for the residency application - they will not issue it without an escritura or a rental agreement.

Okay, great. I think I’ll go the formal route! Like you said I will be short of time! Thanks again you’ve been very helpful.
