Rental agents in UK

My neighbour wants to visit the UK for about a month in the summer. She wants to rent a house for her family, not sure whether it would be for 4, 5 or 6 of them. Also she has not stipulated an area so if anyone has any good links that I can provide her with I would appreciate it.

This would be an interesting thread.

A couple years ago some friends of mine wanted to come for a long visit (1 month) and were too many to stay at our place. We all spent lots of time trying to find anything. The shorter lettings of private houses were for at least 3 months. And the short let apartments were extremely expensive, the cheapest was around 1K per week!

At the end they simply rented a cheap private house as even with a 3 month contract it was by far cheaper than a short let apartment. The owner took pity of them and charged them 2 months instead of 3... although they only stayed for 5 weeks at the end!

Look on the rightmove website and pick an area you can then contact the letting agents and put your request to them and see what, if anything, they can come up with.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will give her the information later. I was at a loss when she asked me because I have only had dealings with landlords who did long term lets.
