I have looked through the free beer thread but there are no removal companies there.

The company I had booked to arrive in Alicante area on 11/03/2010 has just rung me to say their bank has removed their overdraft and so cannot do the move.

This has been booked with them for 10 months and they are well known to some on this forum. Of course it is unfortunate for them but now I am really in it.

They were to charge me £60 per cubic metre and we have around 22-25 m3. The job is easy as it is from a container in Lincoln to a single storey country house in Castalla, Alicante.

Please if you know someone reliable and hopefully in the same price bracket would you let me know urgently. I cannot do the self drive ones.

Am waiting on 2 companies coming back with quotes and there are another 2 who are quite a bit more money. 1 other is looking promising if they can pull a return load forward so thanks for that one Dave.

I think I will have to commit on Monday so has anyone got any other recommendation?

The Costa Blanca News has four large adverts on the back page alone, there are more inside. We used Pickfords but that was many years ago.

I wouldn't touch them with bargepole - they quoted us for a 3 bedroomed house and when they arrived the van was too small...their first words were (with hands on hips) "We will have to prioritise" Loads of our stuff was left behind. It was a nightmare. I posted a thread on here at the time (May 2007). I would definitely NOT recommend them and am surprised they are still in business

Oops, thanks for pointing that out to me. But I've just realised that the Costa Blanca News is online, so the advertisement section should show the removal companies. Most of them are actually UK based, but I can't recommend any apart from Pickfords, and they're not the cheapest.

HGB I have contacted a couple from the CBN who have bases in both countries.
Thanks for that. It is really strange I didn't think of it as when we moved from Spain in 2005 we used one of the advertisers.

They are in a totally different price range. When I moved locally in 2005 (3 miles) they wanted nearly as much as the best quotes to Spain.
