Hi all,

I set up a Royal Mail redirection from the UK to commence from the middle of December last year and I've received nothing at my Spanish address in Calpe yet. I know for certain that at least 4 pieces of mail would have been sent in the month of December alone.

Is this typical of Correos or might the problem lie on the UK side? I've called Royal Mail several times and unfortunately they don't track individual post, they could only assure me that a redirection is live and items have been sent from my old delivery office.

The Correos staff can only tell me that nothing has arrived at their local office. Local UK expats have told me to sign up with a postbox company, but those companies also receive their mail from Correos first, so I'm unsure of what my next move should be.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would check that as well because the Uk tax office forgot the village and province we live in, on my tax refund .
Even though I made sure it was on the change of details form.

Although we have a road name, building no, staircase no, flat no, town, village, postcode, Alicante, Spain.
Its a lot longer than the Uk address was.

Maybe you just need to give it time, mail can take 1 to 4 weeks to arrive under normal circumstances, add Covid19, French closing there boarders, Christmas and New year, things are taking longer, i have an account with Royal mail and they are talking 2 week for first class in the UK sometimes

Correos is franchised and service can be very good or unreliable. I had to go to mail room and sort through a box to find my mail. Soon got tired of that chore and got a mail box.

When I moved to Spain in 2004 I set up a redirection with royal mail, heard nothing for about three months, then a big package of redirected mail arrived, dating back some 3 months.
