The Short answer is, DONT import a RHD vehicle unless its sometinhing special or you want the hassle (From Cops and beurocracey), There are plenty of RHD vehicles for sale in Spain. I intend to drive down in a transit, use it down there until I have my NIE then I will trade in for a spanish car, Sell privatley to someone retuning to Uk, or Bring back to Uk and let my Brother in law sell it on.
Cost on driving down should be net zero (against flights and hire charges).

ITV station = MOT Station (unfortunately nothing to do with Coronation Street).

It's pronounced 'ee-tee-oobay' - please excuse me if you already knew this.

The Spanish equivalent of an MOT station.

My husband has an LGV licence, does anyone know if he would have to take another test in Spain and if so within what time frame

Your UK driving license is valid in Spain as long as it is one of the picture ones. I have a friend who has worked here as a HGV driver, mainly doing trips from here to the UK.

Yes, as a resident, your UK licence is valid in Spain but only if you fulfil the same requirements for medical checks as a Spanish driver would be obliged to do.
