I stand corrected;), I can only speak from my limited experience(been here just over a year) and what my better half tells me(she's Spanish,though lived in UK for 8 yrs) so maybe it's changed whilst she was over there. We also use Sabadell and don't get charged for anything including bank cards, though as far as I'm aware that's because my father in law is a member of some association who's members the bank doesn't apply certain charges too and because we are related get the same benefits...that's what my wife told me anyway....that's my disclaimer;)

You probably have an expansion account, and that's available to anyone that has a regular monthly income going in OR has an insurance through the bank. It entitles you to free banking, free credit cards, and you get a percentage of all your utility bills that are paid on direct debit from the bank credited to your account at the end of the month. You dont need to be an association member to have it :);)

Mitzy... Then I refer to my disclaimer;):thumbsup: ....although we don't have a regular income that goes into there or insurance.
