David and Margaret is on a distinguished road
Default Punta Moral boat race

This afternoon we were at Punta Moral and there was quite a gathering in support of sea/ bay rowing teams. Interested to know what this was about; great atmosphere which we really enjoyed, in total ignorance!
Thanks.

I dont know the details but it is the Punta Festival this weekend. Apparently tomorrow the fishermans wives jump in the sea with gifts for the Saint in order to protect the Men over the next year

Hi Margaret & Derek,

Yes, guesswork is correct, it was the Fiesta de San Antonio de Padua, patron saint of Punta del Moral, with a regatta on one of the 4 days of fiesta.

Have a look at the ayto. tourist info brochure, published monthly online:
http://www.ayamonte.es/opencms/openc...etin_Junio.pdf

Also, TV Canalcosta news:
Noticias de la Costa de Huelva - Canalcosta TelevisiĆ³n
There will be another boat race on the last weekend in June: III Eurocity Regatta.
