Have been visiting Puerto Banus for the last 4 years or so, most recenty last week.I stayed at a friends apartment on the La Quinta golf resort. What I have notice is that there is so much golf and even more golf complexes being built. As a floor and wall tiler (specialist in Natural Stone, Slate , Porcelain etc ) I would like to price these jobs up but wouldnt know where to begin.Any Ideas would be much appreciated!

Also the government has changed the rules about allowing golf resorts in future.

Yeah a cabbie told me about the goverment making changes about golf complexes. He also told me that there are ways around it for the resorts to get permission to build these golf courses with the promise of having housing built on them.Never mind...

Amazed to see a fair chunk of Spanish plated cars in the parking area, seems some of them are coming over here looking for work now.

Why not go self employed. There is always a need for a tiler who can lay a good floor etc. People are always changing the floor tiles so do not despair.
Blanket advertise in the freebies and you never know. Good luck.

there is a lot of competition for tilers (well all trades really) from other Brits as well as the Eastern Europeans who will work for a lot less than some Brits
what would you expect to earn per m2 ?

For the developments and urbanisations, one main contractor has the entire job with trades like tiling being carried out "in house" or subcontracted out to specialists (the cheapest bidder per sq m!). You would need to get yourself employed by one of these contractors. Have a look in the yellow pages for especialistas en pavimento, revestimiento, azulejos, gres etc.
