Default prices for pet re location back to uk?

I am looking for a good company to transport my two dogs back to England from inland andalucia, waiting for a quote from pet care. They both have passports.Has any one used a good company recently and been happy with the service? And can anyone give me even the vaguest idea about price, I have two dogs, a daft alsation and an even dafter podenco cross. Any information would be gratefully received. Thank you....

Try THESE, they took some pets to UK for us and were very good

I can fully recommend this person - www.poshpets-spain.com - they have a specialist travel section and are dedicated to the animals. Hope this helps.

This brings back memories. I was quoted approx E800 from BA and Monarch so then thought we'd try one of those companies mentioned but they quoted similar prices. In the end with all the mounting costs of removals and flights, we decided to buy a big Iveco van on GB plates for 900E. The side panel was converted with seats and a sink, we packed it up with everything we owned (nearly everything). Put the two dogs in the side, myself, other half and daughter in the front and braved the 48 hour drive.

It was fine, the dogs didn't know what was going on but they were with us, I knew they were safe. The only time we had to leave them was on the ferry which I was very worried about, but came back to the van in Dover to find them sitting in the front happy as larry as they'd stuffed themselves full of all our grub

As for the van we swapped it for a car when we got here so all it cost us was fuel and tolls.

Thanks for all of your advice, I will have a look around at the places recommended.

We aquired our dogs while in Spain, they were left abandoned in a cardboard box near our property, and I never realised how attached you can get to them.

Its like having two children! You feel protective towards them in the same way. I must saying buying a van and then scraping it sounds like a good option if it costs that much to transport them via a company.

We did that on the way over with our belongings, stuffed everything into a 7.5 tonne lorry we bought for a grand and drove the thing over. Used the lorry as a shed, a home for a while, and later it acted as a refuge for Spanish tree rats....Not that they were invited...

Its all food for thought. Ultimately wish I could shrink the dogs in some star trek like machine, they could temporarily go from Alsations to Paris Hilton style handbag rats and I could transport them in my pockets.Such thoughts prove in themselves that I have been living on the top of a mountain in rural Andalucia for far too long..

Thanks again for all your advice:

Good luck with everything and I hope your move goes to plan.

I too found my dogs on the side of the road and they are my little babies.

I've been where you are now right now and went through a lot emotionally with the move, so if you need to chat or rant feel free to pm me.

xx

Hi We used this company as well, we bought a puppy from Normandy, France and they collected him and looked after him and brought him him down to us, we were very pleased with them.
