Re: Prescription Charges
Once you've found the right one for you stick with it.
I'm now down to 58 for LDL which is about -1 on your Richter scale!
For JDR - it controls cholesterol.

Re: Prescription Charges
I have just been to the GP and it is the same charge whether it is a hospital prescription or a GP prescription.
As I am waiting for a new health card which entitles me to free prescriptions I asked if I could get a refund on the meds bought so far - reply NO. And seeing as it could take up to three months for the card to arrive it is going to get expensive.

Re: Prescription Charges
I suspect opinions are mainly divided between those with high cholesterol and those without it

Re: Prescription Charges
I had to buy some pills for my blood pressure the other day (€32.50) but when I eventually got the prescription from the Doctor I took it to the pharmacy in Oliva where I bought them - having kept the receipt - and got my money back.

Re: Prescription Charges
Ramipril & Atrovastatin are preventing me from having another one. So I say "Let's hear it for statins"

Re: Prescription Charges
Edit. Just looked it up, the annual charge is £104, so £2 a week is affordable for most, I'd have thought.

Re: Prescription Charges
In Wales, they have been for several years, Scotland is next. The English (of which I'm one) are subsidising the rest of the UK! Previous to that, as I'm taking a daily cocktail of pills, I used to pay an annual charge, I think it was £85, and that covered everything. So that's no big expense.
