I think everyone┬┤s getting sick of you two, could you please stop? This thread is about kittens who need a home.

Maybe they could redirect their frustrations to a lonely hearts forum and allow this thread to continue on topic.

Do me a favour and drop the prejudice. I was happily posting in the thread when I got the usual crap from a poster, as I have said time and time again, I only ever react to how people treat me...

Really? So I should just let people chase me off the site? Nah, not likely love.

One down I'm afraid and the others in danger. Seems like cat flu.
Mother decided to take them off last week after she caught us handling them and took them from place to place every time we found them. I finally stepped in after one died and I found the rest in a soggy compost heap.
I've put them back in the laundry room and Mother cat has found them and seems to be happy to leave them there this time. Unfortunately it might be too late as a second one is finding it hard to breathe (though it's still perky).
We'll see if she makes it through the night. Nature may solve the problem for me:-(

Cats here have a pretty short life.

I believe the life expectancy of a campo cat is about 18 months compared to 18+ years for a domestic cat.

Cat Flu can be a real killer which is why it is essential to have domestic cats vaccinated against it yearly.

Too true, apart from the normal problems they meet up with in the UK, here they have to contend with things such as packs of hunting dogs and poison bait dropped all over the place.
I had two which had the typical campo lifespan.
One found dead in a disused swimming pool and the other I'm pretty certain fell victim to the hunting dogs.

All the damn cats here have cat flu or some other nasal discharge and runny eyes, but I doubt it would ever occur to any of the locals to vaccinate.

We had the vet out because we are taking on a puppy from a friend's litter, and she was most impressed that ours had neither ectoparasites, leishman's or filarisis.

It's not rocket science tho, but it does require you to take common sense steps.

I doubt tho that we would ever have a cat. There's just too high a risk of it ending up as a pavement pizza.
