This guide may help you. As for finding an available date the problem is lots of people will currently be renewing temporary TIE's given time since since Brexit. When did it for my wife and me to get initial TIE I found checking early Monday morning (and I mean early just after midnight and certainly before 9am) best time to find an appointment possibly that's when they put the new weeks appointments out? I'm not saying that for certain but worked for us. Also we couldn't get an appointment but our nearest National Police Station but could at main Malaga one so just went there on the bus.

You need a local gestor or lawyer. They have the connections within the offices who will arrange for them. Quite right too if you ask me. My wife used to do these things for various law firms she worked as. They have numbers that connect them direct to offices and know people working there. As she said ,if foreigners can do everything themselves like tax return, registrations ( you name it) via translation devices or insisting on speaking English then it simply takes work away from Spanish people. 100€ is not a lot to pay someone to help you get something you need ( compared with UK). People boast about how cheap it is to live in Spain but fail to realize that this is because Spanish folk get paid poorly compared to norther European countries where law and accounting work if far more expensive. People often go on about how foreigners support local businesses etc and Spain needs them - then they complain if they have to pay for anything.

I can assure you being married for quite some time to a Spanish man I have and never had any intentions of taking away from the Spanish We have paid every step of the way for help, lawyers, translations, making an appointment should be an easy thing to do, once the lawyers have sent you the link. I understand you have 30 days to get this appointment, but yesterday and today the Web site for appointments is down, next week is Easter less weekends leaves me with around 14 days to get my appointment, so excuse me if im a little stressed

So basically you prefer to be stressed than pay someone to do it all for you?

The problems with getting an appointment is that currently there is a major scam going on where criminals are using computer bots to hoover up all the available appointments as soon as they appear online. They then illegally sell these slots to desperate people. Its exactly the same situation that has happened in the UK with driving test appointments. It’s going to be very difficult to get an appointment unless you pay someone, legal or otherwise.

Are you looking just at your nearest office? Look further field if that is an option. Our nearest location is listed but they never have appointments as a small office and will need to travel to a larger office further way. Originally I had to travel to Marbella rather than a nearer option like Malaga.

Keep trying they do come available. If you mention which province someone may able to suggest.

The process is easy enough and no need to pay someone. it would seem the issue now is getting an appointment all i can suggest is as i said previously check the offical SED booking site very early hours monday morning and be prepared to trave to other than your nearest office within your province. Its not about taking money from the spanish if you can do something yourself i believe one should. When i got oulr first TIEs the system had just started and no gestors could help me as they said new system they needed to get their heads around they would contact us when they could do it? problem was Brexit was rapidly approaching and my wife needed her TIE so i researched and did it myself . Obviously if there is no way you can do it then yes go via a gestor to resolve the issue but if you can do it yourself.

Thank you, do you know if the 30 days includes weekends and bank holidays or just working days we've tried to find out but haven't been able to

I dont understand the 30 days you mention. You can apply up to 60 days before the expiry of current TIE and and i believe 90 days grace after expiry date. You dont need anything from a solicitor to make an appointment if you are registered with an electronic certificate you just make the appointment on the official SED site.
