Default Re: Photo driving license

I have a UK address too. I wanted to change my old green paper licence for a photocard one but on the forms you get from the Post Office you have to declare that you are UK resident. Well I'm not. So I couldn't change my licence.

I thought the paper one was not legal in Spain and so I don't drive here, but someone else I know who has a paper licence has been pulled up by the Guardia on spot checks on several occasions and they have never queried it. Does anyone know the legalities??

I know I could get a Spanish licence but that is another (long) story - don't ask!
