Three for Santander. View looking west to east with the Somo beaches in the middle ground. Magdalena Palace is on the headland to the left. Taken in 2006
This one is looking back in the opposite direction, with the Sardinero Beach towards the top and the Magdalena Palace to the right. Taken 2004
Then a detail shot of the Palace also 2004.

Three of my favourite beaches on the north coast:
Playa de Langre: Steep walk down a cliff path, but well worth the effort. Fairly easy to park at the top out of season, and in season the local farmers improvise car parks for what I reckon must be decent bit of cash income! No facilities on the beach, and that cliff path means you need to decide carefully what you take with you and not forget anything!
Buitrera de Sonabia: Very limited parking, but easy enough out of season. The charm of this beach is the rocks opposite which house a large colony of leonado vultures and they fly up and down on the air currents. Fortunately, not like UK seagulls and they don't attack!
One in Asturias, Playa de Torimbia. Again, one for the walkers!
