Permanent rental in Spain

Hello all,
I'm thinking of retiring to Spain - no particular area as yet.

I'm not retiring for a few years yet, but just seeing if it's feasible to even be worth considering.

I have always been a housing association tenant in UK, and was wondering if people (esp expats) live permanently in rented accommodation?
The 'long term' rentals I've seen say 'if you want to rent for 1-2 years' - but does anybody know if it's common to rent over a very long term period?
I don't want to be having to move every few years.

Thanks for any advice

Re: Permanent rental in Spain

Anything is possible in Spain regarding renting when and where. There are many people who bought holiday homes not just to use them but as investment. A tenant staying two years would be a godsend to some.

Some investors (holiday home owners) might not want to rent even a day beyond 11 months; some will rent September - May only getting better holiday rentals for the peak period.

Having to move every few months is no big deal in most of the Costas as there are thousands of properties with To-Rent (Se Alquiler) signs so try and stem your aging and have no negative doubts on your move to Spain.
