It seems that most of the people that whinge about Facebook don't really know how to use it, just like I didn't at first. It's the last site I go to out of my list of favourites so it's not exactly high on my list of things to do each day. The thing with Facebook is you need to learn how to use it properly to suit your preferences. If you like playing games and quizzes online then you can play them on there with your friends. If you don't like games and quizzes (like me) then you can block them so that you don't see them. If you have any friends in particular that consistently post annoying status updates you can have their status updates blocked from your page but still remain in contact. I didn't know these things when I first went on there and got fed up with it pretty quickly and was about to leave when I found out about all the applications I could block.
I use Facebook to let friends know what I've been doing recently. I had been doing this via an email newsletter kind of thing I sent to a load of friends but rarely got any replies. Now I'll just go on Facebook and post up a few pics usually and maybe post a funny story about something I've done if I think it's worth reporting. Somebody will usually make a coment about my pics or story and we might get chatting about something.
I like to see some of my friends photo albums. One that I saw yesterday belonged to a friend of mine who is an amateur photographer. It really was enjoyable to see his pics of ruins, cottages and landscapes.
