Pensionista
having recently moved to Spain (March) we are keen to get all necessary paperwork sorted, so far we have an NIE, Residencia, Padron and SIP. We are also in the process of obtaining our Spanish driving licence and a Fiscal Rep. I thought we had everything covered. However talking with an acquittance recently she tells me that she has been to "Torrevieja to register with Social Security and everything is covered" (currently living near Crevillente). Her husband is of pensionable age, where as we have a few months to go as yer (Feb 13).
Can anyone enlighten me as to what this is, she was none to clear herself. I looked at the form and saw the word "Pensionista" Do we need to do this? Hope someone can be of some help. many thanks |

Re: Pensionista
Did you have the S1 form to give you free health care for a max of 2 years? You have said that you have a few months to go but is that for both of you? Males at 65 and females at 60 can get the S1 form from DWP and the other person is named as their dependant, this is possibly why she had a form with pensionista on it.

Rosemary its a mad world, that of forms, where you need an S1 that gives you 2 years but then when you retire they issue you with an ........ S1 you may find http://ukinspain.fco.gov.uk/en/help-...ving-in-spain/ will give you lots of information I think people here will agree with me that the DWP staff in Newcastle who deal with these things are very helpful hth |
