The punchline from your link
(A club can only be as good as its members – and it's no different with the EU. Will the members now endorse von der Leyen’s grand vision for Europe and the money to fund it? Soon, we will find out.)
And
(“There is only one instrument we have that is trusted by all Member States, which is already in place and can deliver quickly. It is transparent and it is time tested as an instrument for cohesion, convergence and investment.“And that instrument is the European budget. The European budget will be the mothership of our recovery.”)
I wonder just where the members will get the funds to contribute to this trillions of euros budget ?
EU budget is trusted.

So you prefer Trump or Boris running it? I did expect a few more positive comments at least she is attempting joined-up thinking...

I agree with your comment re joined up thinking, after all if the EU don't sort some real collective help out for the less wealthy but badly affected countries then the EU is at risk of breaking apart? They have already seen how the Schengen system started to fall apart with countries closing down borders independently, it is to be hoped she can get the whole EU together to help out most affected countries etc.

Wishful thinking, but it's nothing new. Any minute now. For the past 30 years or so.
