I am sure I have read about a member living in Spain and is moving to Oz soon. Hopefully they will see this thread and be able to help you. In the mean time I will have a look and see if I can find them :)

What an excellent idea, I think peoples first Christmas in a new place is an emotional time so if you are there it will alleviate their sadness and increase their pleasure.

I think that you would get more response if this was in the main Spain forum and it may be worth putting it in the Australian forum too because I am sure that you cannot be the only people in each of these countries to want to travel to and fro.

Went to NZ via Singapore and Oz to celebrate Millenium.
Had prevously made the trip booking through UK company.
That is fraught with danger, I.E. should your Spain to UK flight run into problems and you miss your conection .

Tried many travel agents in the Campo de Gibraltar area to no avail.

Finally rang Qantas in Madrid who gave a very good price ( about 250,000 pts )but insisted I book through an agent where I would get an even better price.
I explained that I had been trying to do this without sucess.
I was then told to try Cortes Ingles and should there be a problem ask them to speak to Qantas Madrid

Went to Cortes Ingles and was quoted 350,000pts.
Asked them to ring Qantas.

Result ticket cost 219,000 pts

Two tickets Malaga / Heathrow / Singapore / 3 day stopover / Wellington / month stop / Sydney / 4 days stop / Bankok / Heathrow / Malaga

WE could of course had other stopovers
