Options sewage for eco-lodge with compost toilet
 

We plan to ask a cedula for our small 1 bedroom casita on rural land.
We don't have a flush toilet.

For the sewage for shower and sink only we are looking for alternatives for a standard septic tank.

Anyone has experience with this?

In an approved underground tank and have the man come and suck it out when full.

Id start here and continue searching for "Domestic Sewage Treatment Plants"
or"Domestic waste water treatment plants"

Then look for the bio-efficient models that suit your needs. E.g

I have no connection with this company.

The cheapest option is a "composting sawdust toilet" there are youtube videos. If you know a sawmill nearby you could maybe get a deal.... But you will still spend a tad more 'than a penny' :)

where we live in Andalucia you are not allowed septic tanks and must pump into the main sewer.
However when we built 12 years ago we had the option of a Bio Digester which we took and it has been excellent. It has a low pressure air blower to keep the good bacteria alive and the diaphragms have needed renewing every couple of years and that’s it. It serves 5 toilets, 5 showers, 1 bath and a dishwasher.
Ours is pretty big but they come in various sizes. It has not been emptied at all.

Our casita is for holidays only and is off-grid. There is no main sewer. We are in the middle of nowhere.
A Bio Digerster has no use because we have no toilet! We have no washing machine. Only 1 sink and 1 shower (rainwater).
