Opticians in Spain......
 

Hello,
Bit of a funny question here,but we thought we would ask!
Does anyone know if you can buy Contact Lenses in Spain,my wife and i both wear them and get ours from Specsavers here in the UK.If anyone does happen to know,do you know how much the price differs from here to there as we buy monthly ones here.

Since I came here I've been ordering online from Lenscatcher - google for them. I pay around 30-35€ for 6 months supply (monthly disposables). Most opticians I've looked at here charge more than that.

Delivery is quick - around a week from order. The company is based in Germany I think. Rules must be different from in the UK because they don't ask to see your prescription.

I use monthly disposables.........I pay 100euros for 6 months supply, including solutions, an eye test if I feel I need one, and a lens trial, again if I want one. That is from a local spanish optician...we have a Specsavers in Javea - I did go in & enquire how much it would be from there when they first opened - I can't remember what they said but I walked out in shock & went back to my spanish guy! (who does speak english if you need him to)

I've just seen Rita1's reply - that is obviously a lot cheaper - but I'm not sure I trust the vagaries of our postal service


edit............have just visited the website..wow! dh reckons it would be worth it just to see if they arrived!

Check out the "needing new glasses" thread, lots on there. I have just had new glasses, Specsavers in Fuengirola, but lots of branches opening in Spain now. Had my test done in UK, £19, but if I had it done here would have only been €15 or free if I bought my glasses from them.

eye tests are free in spanish opticians whether you buy from them or not.....they will write a prescription for you
