You absolutely do not need a solicitor in Spain to make the move, there is nothing one can do for you which you cannot do for yourself in UK, Some would argue that it would be more a handicap than asset!.

If you feel you must have legal assistance use a solicitor in UK, the consulates should be able to give you pointers.

You will need the services of a legal professional at some time.
Use this link from the UK government.
  • Choose country.
  • Next page add the location in Spain
  • Next page choose the services you want the professional to cover.
  • Then read the list and contact details.

Assuming you are a UK passport holder and not national of another EU country. You'll need to obtain a visa in the UK before you can move there.

I'm sure the Admins will soon post the one of the links to an appropriate thread explaining some of the post Brexit hoops and hurdles that have to be cleared during that process.

As others have said, most things about moving to Spain can be achieved without using expensive lawyers. They are useful if looking at buying a property with doubtful legality, of if you are struggling with visa applications. This company on the Granada coast is well respected.
